Meditation

It only takes a few minutes to quiet your mind and body through meditation.  It might sound cheesy, but there is power in positivity.

All you have to do is sit with your back straight.  Your feet can either be planted firmly on the floor, or crossed in front of you.  Close your eyes and focus your attention inward.  You should have a mantra that you either recite out loud or in your mind.  Keep it positive.  Something such as “I feel at peace” or “I love myself” are perfect examples.  Sync this phrase with your breathing and let all your stressors float away on the clouds.

Laugh Out Loud

Laughter really is the best medicine.  A good old fashioned belly laugh will help reduce cortisol levels in your brain, as well as produce endorphins.  Both of these will lighten your mood and remove the tension from your shoulders.  Take a few minutes to find something funny and just let loose.

Exercise

Take a brisk walk, or head to the gym.  Moving your muscles will not only help reduce stress, but you’ll be strengthening your body in the process.  This is a win all around.

Play with Your Pet

Your beloved animal has magical powers that will help put you in a good mood.  It is impossible to be angry when you’re playing with a dog.
